P-51 Investigation of thermal degradation properties of cellulose in Japanese cypress

Abstract

Thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) was applied to simple analysis of cellulose in treated Japanese cypress that has the highly enzymatic digestibility in this study. We had two tendencies; (1) the thermal degrading property of the organosolv treated sample was similar with that of cellulose powder, (2) ball milled sample and alkaline hydrogen peroxide treated sample occurred thermal degrading at lower temperature and decrease endothermic reaction by denature of hemicellulose and lignin.
