O501 Supercritical water gasification of chicken manure using suspended catalyst

Abstract

A novel method of supercritical water gasification of biomass using suspended catalyst slurry was proposed, and investigation was made in terms of reaction engineering using laboratory scale and pilot scale reactors. Chicken manure was employed as a feedstock, and complete gasification was achieved. Heat transfer characteristics and reaction kinetics were successfully predicted. For the system to be economicaly feasible, proper use of by-product was wanted.
