Abstract

Recently, the demand of utilization of renewable energy, such as sewage heat, has been rising and it is expected as one of the energy measures because of the contribution to energy saving and reduction of CO2 emissions. The temperature of sewage water is higher than the outdoor temperature during the winter and lower than the outdoor temperature during the summer, allowing heat pumps to operate at a higher level of efficiency than if they used air.The Heat Recycle Technology inside of sewage water is the installation of brine pipe on the surface of the sewage pipe and so it allows a large amount of heat to be exchanged. Because cities with a high level of thermal demand have large networks of sewage pipes, these systems can be deployed and installed in a large geographic area. This report is introduced about the outline of the Heat Recycle Technology inside of sewage water and a sewage heat use case in Sendai-City and Niigata-City.
