Abstract
In our current stressful society, hot springs attract many people for their relaxing and healing effects and are now one of the most important tourism resources in Japan. Hokuriku, located in the middle of the Japan Sea coast has numerous hot springs which are visited by many tourists each year. This paper introduces some of the famous hot springs in the area and also reports our studies on the psychological effects of the hues of water for bathing and the quantification of these effects.
