Kanazawa Castle Park(IES Illumination Awards 2011 AWARDS OF MERIT, <Special Issue>Japanese Illumination Designs Highly Recognized in Overseas as Well 2011)

Abstract

When creating "light to connect the historic and cultural features of Kanazawa", it all comes down to rediscovering the appeal of Kanazawa, designing light to enhance it, and expanding the light all over the city. A number of lost buildings in Kanazawa Castle and its surroundings were reconstructed in the first and the second reconstruction projects. Our lighting design unveiled the extensive scale of the castle. Now, many people including foreign visitors recognize the fascinating Kanazawa night view.
