Abstract
Toshiba made the partnership contract with the Louvre museum in June, 2010. In this project, all old luminaires of the Pyramid, the Cour Napoleon, and the Cour Corree of the Louvre museum will be replaced to the new LED luminaires. The Louvre museum of the World Heritage is gracefully illuminated by LED luminaires at night time. The installation of the luminaires at the Pyramid and Pyramidion was completed in December, 2011. After that, the installation at the Cour Napoleon finished in May, 2012. Finally, the installation at Cour Corree will finish in 2013. In this project, 4500 luminaires which have a bad influence for the environment will be replaced to 3200 LED luminaires which need less power consumption. As a result, the power consumption in one year will be reduced from about 714,000 kilowatt-hours to about 199,000 kilowatt-hours. The reduction rate of this power consumption will achieve 73%. And the amount of the CO_2 emission will be reduced about 17 tons in one year in France.
