On the Some Infra Red Ray Drying Units by means of a Sic Radiator (Third Report)

Abstract
1. Using the SiC unit D, which showed the muximum unite efficiency in the first report, its initial charactritics and unit efficiency varying with the orientations of the unit are invest-igated, and the SiC unit is compared with the lamp unit (Matzuda: R-type 250W) concerning heating, baking and drying efect.
2. An example of unit efficiency varing with the orientation of the unit is shown here.
3. Heating, Baking and Drying effect.
In the heating of the metal panels (Copper, Steel, Brass and so on) the SiC unit and the lamp unit show the same effect. But in the case of glass and synthetic resins which is transparent for the infra-red region of shorter wane-length alone, the SiC unit is more effective and the skin-effect is more conspicuous.
According to my experiments, for the black enamel the both units are equally effective, but for enamels of the other colours the SiC unit is more effective.
Drying the several samples (black woolen cloth, white cotton cloth, white felt, yellow pasteb-oard, white writing-paper) by the both units at various radiant density, their constant rate of drying are compared.
According to the results of the experiments, for black woolen cloth the both units show the almost same effect, and for the others the SiC unit is more effective.
