Abstract
Estimation of CO_2 reduction by substituting fuelwood boiler for kerosene boiler in Niyodogawa area, Kochi Prefecture was carried out, including energy consumption during the fuelwood processing. The energy consumption for fuelwood processing is much lower than that of wood pellet. In the case of a spa facility installed three units of the boiler in Ino town, 135t-CO_2 can be reduced by substituting the boiler. Furthermore, 1,400t-CO_2 can be reduced by substituting the fuelwood boiler in spa facilities in Niyodogawa town.
