Abstract
Woody biomass was copyrolyzed with low rank coal to investigate the synergy effect on the oil yield and quality. The mixing weight ratio of biomass and coal was varied at 2:1, 1:1, and 1:2. Copyrolysis process was conducted in a drop tube reactor. Characterization of the obtained oil was done by using GC/MS. It is found that the mixing coal and biomass revealed positive effect and more oil with low oxygen content with higher heating value was produced, indicating that the mixing coal with biomass could increase the quality of the obtained bio oil.
