Abstract
Measurements of CO_2 reaction rates of coal chars prepared under various pyrolysis conditions including different heating rates and different times of heat treatment were carried out in a fluidized bed reactor (FBR) at temperatures ranging 1273-1873K. Reaction rates of chars from the six kinds of coals increased when temperature increasing from 1273K to 1673K (with apparent activation energy ranging 60-200kJ/mol). With temperature further increasing, reaction rates turned down or remained almost unchanged for coals with lower ash fusion temperatures (around 1600K) but kept increasing for coals with high ash fusion temperatures (>1773K). Pyrolysis conditions showed significant effects on reactivities of chars.
