Abstract
Rating using VTR has many advantages such as group rating. However, the validity of using television monitor through which the actual work pace is shown to the rater must be ascertained before it is put into practical use. The comparison between direct rating and VTR rating was made by the use of paired data taken from the specially designed work for experiment which was considered to have typical work pattern. It was concluded that VTR rating has no significasnt difference from direct rating. It was also found that human judgement against speed was linearly spaced within the practical range.
