Abstract
We shall consider a preventive maintenance policy for a one-unit system with secondary failure. This paper discusses a model in which a perventive maintenance policy for a first failure poeration and a one for failure free poeration are considered simultaneously. Secondary failure (system failure) of a unit never occurs before first failure. It is fo great interest to discuss two different kinds of failure with one non-regeneration point in Markov renewal process. We can derive the mean recurrence time for a certain state, the expected number of visits to a certain state per nuit time, and the limiting probability that the system is in a certain state in the steady-state. Finally we showed some numerical examples.
