Abstract
The evaluation problems of the multiple attribute altematives such as ranking the commodities can be solved by the linear weighting method. The major problem is how we should decide the weight parameters of the attributes. The weight parameters are considered fuzzy by nature. A method is presented for calculating the evaluation of alternatives. The fuzzy sets used here are confined to the type of triangles for the sake of simplicity. It leads to obtain the fuzzy evaluation as a function. Our emphasis is that we should use the fuzzy model as long as our problem under consideration has essentially fuzziness.
