Abstract
A machine system can not maintain their functions without the behavior of workers as human beings, though various automation is introduced into the system.Because various irregular events may happen with the machine systems, in general, for various reasons.Such events are found, recovered, and repaired, if necessary, by workers. The way of coping with such irregular events are changed not only by such various capacity of workers as technological knowledge, experience, and skill concerned but also by character, personality, value, and human relations of them, which is totally so called as humanity.Introducing two events observed inour former reserch on the most technically advanced container vessel with main engines of about 70,000 p.s., the fact that the humanity of workers plays quite important roles to maintain the machine systems is discussed.
