Abstract
This paper is concerned with a basic study of the effeciency of arm motions in the three dimensional working space. The aim of this paper is to investigate the ralationships between the location, the direction or the length of arm movement in the three dimensional working spece in a seated position and their efficiency in terms of time. The time of a subject's finger tip of his right arm to move in three directions ; X, Y, Z, from one grid point to another at maximum speed was measured. As a result, characteristics of the move time were determined mainly by a derection of movement. A location, a working height and movement type are affect the move time.
