Abstract
As one of business strategies, corporations have begun to request mediators such as banks to carry out M&A tasks. In such a situation, a support system for M&A is needed. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the tasks of M&A management and to develop a support system for them. This system consists of four main sub-systems ; 1) determining the purpose of M&A, 2) selecting corporations that satisfy these purposes, 3) evaluating corporations purchase prices, 4) securing funding. The design for this support system is based upon the need for 1) using various approaches to determine the price of M&A, 2) providing the user with various kinds of information needed to select and evaluate the companies, and 3) providing the user with interface functions for easy use.
