Abstract
For the stern tube seal liner, high chrome stainless steel made by centrifugal casting is generally used. This material, though high resistance against corrosion and abrasion, is in some instances subjected to pitting corrosion on the seal rubber sliding surface or to its abnormal abrasion, depending upon the environment and the conditions of using. Looking into the cause of such damage and as the preventive method thereof, a new material has been developed for seal liner and electrical protection method for corrosion has been also investigated.
