An Introduction to Iron Ion Generator

Abstract

On a ship many kinds of heat exchangers are installed and cooled by sea water, therefore, the cooling tube is attacked by corrosion.
But effective methods to protect cooler and piping were not, in general.
To prevent the cooling tube from corrosion the iron ion generator has been made, but this equipment is not known very well. So principle of the iron ion generator, how to apply to sea water cooling system and data taken from actual installation and experiment are described in this paper so that machinery outfit designer and user can understand this equipment and application.
