Abstract
This paper reviews about turbulence charactericities of the squish flow in engines. Since turbulence has a major effect on the combustion process and on the heat transfer near top dead center of the power stroke, it is important to achieve a better understanding of turbulence generation during the intake process.
Former study, we showed the squish flow by the smoke wire method for flow visualization. Photographs of flow field were analyzed by computer. But results were obtained qualitative. And in this work we investigated several turbulence charactericities by using of hot wire anemometry.
