Abstract
The reduction of the marine exhaust emissions have been important subiects because the International Maritime Organization (IMO) advances on the prevention of air pollution from ships in 1989. Exhaust emissions from diesel vessels under the passage and transient operating conditions are evaluated. The emissions of carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), total hydrocabons (THC), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxide (NOx) and Dusts play an important part. The regulated value of NOx emission will be decided by the Bulk Chemicals (BCH) and the other emissions also will be decided in recent years.
This paper describes the measured data of NOx, COx and Dusts emissions quantity from mini - vessel (449ton 1100kW) with controllable pitch propeller under steady and transient operating conditions whose experiments are carried out under several engine conditions, because emissions change under the influence of engine conditions. As a result, NOx emission can reduce operated under high engine revolution and small propeller pitch on a fixed engine output and the mean diameter of dusts are almost under 14μm, however 3-5μm dusts are few.
