Abstract
In this paper, a DC-DC converter for reducing ripple involved in input current and obtaining high voltage ratio is proposed. The proposed converter is based on the Floating -Interleaving Boost Converter (FIBC) for fuel cell and connects boost choppers to output terminals of FIBC in series. A conventional small fuel cells use a DC-DC converter to boost the output voltage of the fuel cell. The boost ratio is required to be about 6 to 11 times. In additionally, it is required to reduce input current ripple which causes a sintering phenomenon in the fuel cell. In this paper, the circuit operation modes of the proposed converter are discussed, and the boost ratio and input / output current are derived. Then, the effect of reducing the input current ripple and obtaining high voltage gain of the proposed converter can be clarified by simulation and experimental results.
