Abstract
This paper presents a new conceptional electromagnetic Induction-heated fluid heating appliance with a non-contact dual packs structure, which is driven through a fixed-frequency phase-shifted PWM resonant full-bridge inverter with a unity power factor correction and sinewave line current shaping function. A unique cost-effective application of induction-heated fluid heating power processor is pointed out from a practical point of view including the other useful promising applications. In particular, an original dual pack fluid heating system based upon induction-heating principle is demonstrated, which is composed of a metal sheet assembly integrated many regular heating plate into the non-metal pipe and all the metal sheet assemblies flowing the gas and liquid are directly heated through the working coil connected to the inverter. The experimental results of this inverter-fed induction-heated dual packs are illustrated by the 10Kw trially-produced prototype breadboard using IGBT modules.
It is proved that this new appliance is more effective and practical from an application viewpoint as a non-contact energy transfer and exchange power processor.
