Abstract
Recently, many methods of power-factor-correcting converters have been reported to realize a high power factor and to decrease harmonic distortion.
If AC-DC buck-boost (B-B) converter is operated in discontinuous current mode (DCM), we can make input current sinusoidal and achieve a high power factor without a special control method. To realize a high power factor and decrease input ripple factor, we use a couple of B-B converter in parallel.
In this paper, we present analyses of the input ripple factor, power factor, and output ripple voltage for this parallel connected B-B converter.
Further more, we calculated those values theoretically and compared properties of parallel connected B-B converter with those of the usual B-B converter.
In either case, the analyses are well verified by experiments.
