Abstract
This paper discuss the effects of parasitic resistances such as ESR of the output capacitor on the dynamic characteristics of a boost DC-DC converter which has a relatively strong nonlinearity of the dynamic characteristics. The oscillation appears in the experimental waveform of the output voltage for some feedback gain. The relationship between the effect of ESR and the critical feedback gain is analytically examined. Furthermore, the stability improvement by PID compensation is examined by means of MATLAB tool.
