In order to understand residents' consciousness for taking residential earthquake safety measures, we conducted a questionnaire survey targeting the citizens of Shizuoka city, Chiba city and Mito city. Based on the obtained data, we examined correlation between respondents' willingness to pay for taking the measures and some factors including stereotypes of natural disasters and disaster risk perception. Then, we examined closely influences of the factors upon the willingness by comparing path coefficients of a structural equation model.
