Abstract
This research is aimed to clarify the relativity between the Career Maturity and Personal and Demographic Characteristics of nurses. 1347 nurses participated in this investigation. The investigation consisted of Demographic characteristics (age, gender, years of service as a nurse, years of service at current medical facility and stage of nursing education), Personal characteristics (Occupational Identity and Quality of Occupational experience as a nurse), and Career Maturity. In this research, the causal association (indirect model) is established, while occupational career is considered to be a dependent variable and its primary factor is the personal characteristics and its secondary factor is the Demographic factor. Structural equation modeling is used to study the goodness of fit of the model to the data. As a result, the aforementioned model fit the data (CFI = 0.953, RMSEA = 0.049). The causal association model showed that Occupational Identity has a particularly strong influence on the Career Maturity and the Quality of Occupational Experience strongly influences the Occupational Identity. It is suggested that focusing on formation of the Occupational Identity is necessary to improve the career of nurses in the future.
