Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find new opportunities for mainstreaming consumer education
into school education programs in accordance with revisions to courses of study published by the
Ministry of Education, Japan in 2017. The reason for identifying the new opportunities above to
mainstream consumer education is to ensure that the guidelines that have been set by the Ministry of Education, and the teaching of the subject in the classroom have the same goals and expectations. In this paper, after clarifying this relationship between the two, a need for teacher training emerged as a future subject.
