Abstract

Fullerenes, single-walled carbon nanotubes and carbon nanocapsules have been produced by the arc-discharge method. In order to obtain high-efficiency and high-quality production of these clusters, clarification and control of growth processes of these clusters are important. For this purpose, growth models of these clusters were suggested, and experiment has been carried out to make clear how the micro-gravity and convection-free conditions affect the growth process of these clusters. Cluster production under high gravity condition was also examined. Here, the summary is presented.
