Abstract
The use of experiments and practices in the clothing area was studied to determine the best method of teaching consumer education in homemaking education. A questionaire was distributed to junior college students who had experienced courses in homemaking education in primary, junior and senior high schools. Based on the results, the actual conditions of teaching homemaking education to students were investigated. The results obtained were as follows : 1. All of the students had learned the symbols of garment treatment. 2. Although all students had learned the essentials of clothing construction, only a few mastered the work given in other experiments and practices. It was concluded that further experiments and practices are necessary to improve consumer education.
