Abstract

This paper is concerned with the hull form parameters having smallest resistance at Froude number 3.5 (=V/√1/3g). Using model test data in still water of the high speed craft, and with or without conditions concerning shapes and initial trims, we first determined the hull form having smallest total resistance by applying the non-linear optimization technique.
Second, the deviation of hull form parameters is discussed from the view-point of five ship form elements which were obtained by factor analyses using experimental data. And, then, 95 percentage predictions are pursued to the resistance performance from Froude numbers 0.5 through 3.5.
