Abstract

Background : Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has become the first choice for treatment of blunt thoracic aortic injury (BTAI) ; however, its use for treatment of the left subclavian artery (LSA) remains to be elucidated. Case : Three patients (aged 16, 42, and 70) underwent fenestrated TEVAR for BTAI at our institution. Two were traffic injuries and one was a fall, and the median injury severity score was 41. The procedural success rate was 100%, and the median procedural time was 126 minutes. There were no complications, such as migration, LSA occlusion, retrograde type A dissection, or tetraplegia, during the follow-up period. Conclusion : The initial experience of fenestrated TEVAR for BTAI at our hospital yielded good results. Further studies are needed to assess long-term results.
