Study objective: Examining whether online parent training for a mother facilitated the acquisition of requesting verbal behaviors (mands) and naming verbal behaviors (tacts) by her non-verbal child with autism spectrum disorder. Design: A multi-layer baseline design across behaviors. Setting: The participant’s home and developmental support facilities. Participants: A non-verbal, three-year-old boy with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and his mother. Intervention: The mother received online parent training. Then, based on that, she implemented home training with her son. Measures: The percentage of mand occurrences in requesting situations by the child and the number of tacts. Results: The results suggested that the mother’s training of her son resulted in his acquisition of mands and tacts. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the online parent training facilitated mand and tact acquisition. Effects of online parent training and future challenges are discussed.
