Abstract
This paper describes the language development of a child with a significant delay in expressive language from the age of 2 years and 7 months to 6 years and 11 months. During the catch-up process, the target child exhibited different articulatory development and characteristic stuttering-like symptoms from typical developmental children. From the viewpoint of the accentual phrase, we speculate that the delay in speech in the target child was related to articulation development and stuttering symptoms, which was caused by phonetic-prosodic problems such as weak articulatory programming.
