Features and practices of psychological clinical activity implemented by probation officers

Abstract

This article introduces psychological clinical activity implemented by Japanese probation officers in probationary and parole supervision. After discussing the main roles of probation officers, the article presents the psychological clinical aspect of their treatment by introducing the author’s experience and practices, focusing on intake interviews, assessment, treatment interviews, multi-agency cooperation and multi-disciplinary team approaches, interrogation, and cooperation with volunteer probation officers.
