Abstract
We assessed the long–term outcome following radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in patients with unresectable liver tumors metastatic from colorectal cancer. Methods:Subjects were 10 persons with liver metastasis from colorectal cancer treated for 14 colorectal tumors using percutaneous or open surgical RFA between 2001 and 2007. Results:The mean follow–up was 42.6 months. No RFA–related complications occurred. One tumor was near the right hepatic vein, Four were over 3.5 cm in diameter. Median survival was 4 years and 5 months. Conclusions:RFA is safe and provides relatively long survival in those with unresectable liver metastasis from colorectal cancer.
