Abstract
An 87-year-old female suffered from a rectal tumor with repeated prolapse through the anus and was referred to our department. CT and MRI showed a low-density tumor without enhancement and a high-intensity tumor on T1- and T2-weighted images, respectively. Colonoscopy demonstrated a large tumor in the upper rectum that was positive for the cushion sign. Based on a diagnosis of rectal lipoma, minimally invasive transanal surgery was performed. The patient’s postoperative course was uneventful, and she was discharged on the 5th postoperative day. The pathological findings yielded a diagnosis of rectal lipoma.
