Abstract
<Case 1> A female in her 70s visited a hospital with a chief complaint of loss of appetite and discomfort in the upper right abdomen. Imaging examinations showed a simple huge hepatic cyst with a maximum diameter of 160mm in the right hepatic lobe. We performed single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) using a SILS Port™ and a Mini Loop Retractor. <Case 2> A female in her 70s visited a hospital with a chief complaint of upper abdominal pain and right shoulder pain. Imaging examinations showed a simple huge hepatic cyst with a maximum diameter of 190mm in the right hepatic lobe. We performed reduced port surgery (RPS) using a GelPoint®and a 3mm forceps. The postoperative courses of both patients treated using different surgical devices were comparable. In recent years, reduced port laparoscopic surgery has become mainstream for the surgical treatment of huge hepatic cysts.
