A Case of Acquired Hemophilia―From a Standpoint of the General Surgeon―

Abstract
We report a case of acquired hemophilia. A 75-years-old man was admitted to our hospital with left hip pain and bleeding under the skin of the limbs from three weeks ago. He had a bruise marks and swelling markedly to the left forearm, the subcutaneous bleeding in the back and limbs. Blood test showed only extension of activated partial prothrombin time (APTT) and anemia. He was diagnosed bruises throughout the body and came home. He was admitted again to the emergency room of our hospital because left hip pain got worse. The left hip joint pain and swelling of the forearm were enhanced. Blood test again showed only extension of APTT and anemia. CT showed a retroperitoneal hematoma. We have an ambulance to department of hematology of general hospital suspecting a blood disease. He was treated with a diagnosis of acquired hemophilia in the hospital. His condition improved gradually, he is currently attending to internal medicine in our hospital.
