Abstract
Purpose: While liver cancer cases of elderly people increase, laparoscopic hepatectomy (Laparoscopic Hepatectomy: Lap-H) could take effect for the super elderly people safely as follows. Subject and a method: Of the Lap-H 102 case which took effect in January, 2008 in our department until June, 2013, it applies to 13 liver cancer cases older than 80 years of age. We performed 11 segmental resection, outside segmental resection one, posterior segment resection one under a complete laparoscope and weighed complications against a case younger than 80 years for bleeding, length of stay and operative time. Results: 13 all cases were able to tolerate surgery enough. As compared with a case younger than 80 years, there were no significant differences for bleeding, length of stay for an operative time. Also, there was not the case that we showed, and there were no a decrease of the postoperative PS and postoperative delirium in the serious complications such as hepatic failure tendencies. Conclusion: It was thought that Lap-H for super elderly patients could take effect by the adaptation of an appropriate tumor factor, the host factor safely.
