Abstract
We herein report a case of simultaneous laparoscopic repair of incisional and parastomal hernias, and review the literature. The patient was 75-year-old woman who underwent radical cystectomy and ileal conduit creation for bladder cancer 12 months earlier. She presented at hospital because of abdominal pain and peristomal bulging. CT demonstrated the parastomal hernia and the incisional hernia at umbilicus. We repaired both hernias simultaneously using Parietex Parastomal Mesh and Parietex Optimized Composite Mesh by laparoscopic approach with two 12mm punctures and two 5mm punctures. The duration of the operation was 170 minutes. 12 months after surgery, the patient shows no evidence of recurrence of hernias or other stomal complications.
