Abstract
Recently, several dentin bonding systems have been developed and marketed in order to ensure the adhesion of the resin composite to dentin. In the present study, tensile bond strengths of six commercially available bonding systems to the flat bovine dentin surface were determined. The results obtained were in descending order of magnitude as follows:Tenure solution, 75.6kgf/cm2;Scotchbond 2, 66.8kgf/cm2;Clearfil PhotoBond, 60.0kgf/cm2;Gluma, 35.7kgf/cm2;Mirage-Bond, 33.7kgf/cm2;and RestoBond 3, 31.3kgf/cm2 Statistically significant differences were found between the mean tensile bond strengths of the first three systems and the others.
