Abstract
The mechanical properties of the commercial Type 4 gold alloy (Ishifuku casting gold Type 4) for casting in clinical applications were examined with the different solutionized temperatures (ST). Heating for 10 minutes at 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850 and 900℃ STs was followed by a hardening heat treatment Vickers hardness, tensile strength, and elongation of the hardening heat-treated alloy were found to decrease with higher STs. Cross-sectional SEM images revealed an increased void in tensile strength at 900℃. Polishing surface was brilliant and X-ray diffraction was α single phase at 700℃.
