Abstract

The Department of Energy (DOE) launched the Philippine Energy Labeling Program (PELP) under the Energy Efficiency Conservation Act. The program aims to promote the adoption of energy-efficient appliances by using energy labels at points of sale. With PELP's introduction, a new Philippine Energy label was introduced. Previous studies employed surveys, and only a handful have incorporated an eye tracker to determine the elements or information respondents focused on when interacting with an energy label.

This study aims to evaluate the new Philippine Energy label and address the research gap by analyzing how label information and design affect visual attention, label cognition, and purchase intention.
