Abstract

In this study, the correlation between various vibration directions and fingertip sensitivity, along with their impact on emotional perception, was examined under a standardized operating force of 5 N, characteristic of haptic switches. Sensory thresholds were assessed at two frequencies (150 Hz and 280 Hz) across three spatial axes (lateral, fore-and-aft, and vertical), revealing no statistically significant variations in sensitivity attributable to vibration direction. Furthermore, the analysis of emotional perception in relation to vibration direction demonstrated that stimulation at 150 Hz consistently evoked a similar sensory experience along the x-axis and y-axis.
