Abstract
For the purpose of obtaining the necessary ease of clothing in motion, experimental clothes with polyester knitted fabric as its base was used on which stitches running in vertical, horizontal and diagonal directions were applied with polyester extensible filament.
Four young women were tested with these experimental clothes.
The results are as follows:
In regard to the upper part of the body, the necessary ease for the front waist pattern were, at the chest line 16-18%, and the bust line 7-10%. For the back waist pattern, at the chest line 19-22% and the bust line 6-14%. For the sleeve pattern, at the upper arm girth 10-19%, the elbow girth 10-18% and the fore arm girth 10-14%. As for the lower part of the body, observations were 0.5-3% ease at the hip line, 17-19% at the femur line, 15-21% at the knee line and 9-13% at the calf line for front pants pattern. For the back pants pattern, a 5-7% at the hip line, 5-18% at the femur line, 7-22% at the knee line and 5-9% at the calf line were necessary for ease.
