Abstract
This paper is concerned with proposing the concept “error possibility” based on fuzzy sets and the Performance Shaping Factors model using Fuzzy integrals.
Error possibility is based on the triplet of error rate, the mean and its lower and upper bounds. The Performance Shaping Factors model represents the relation between factors and human reliability. This model enables one to select necessary and/or important factors in human reliability analysis. Four types of experiments are performed with a microcomputer to confirm the validity of the proposed model. 5 Performance Shaping Factors are considered, adequacy of equipment, environment, personality, fatigue and attitude.
The results show that the proposed model (1) estimates 5 factors according to the importance degree, (2) presumes well human reliability in terms of likelihood of error and (3) may give the guidelines to improve the task situations.
