Abstract
The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of aging on the daily physical activity and to clarify the factors which influence on the capacity to perform everyday activities. A survey of questionnaire on the daily living action is carried into 1068 subjects (males and females) ranging in age from forties to actogenarian. Most of subjects take care on their health and have several kinds of hobbies, but there is a negative correlation between age and muscle strength. In addition, the impediment of joint region and sense make them difficult to adapt the living space. As regard to women, the amount of household working time is found to be related to their physical activity levels. The household working thus appears to have the effect of keeping capacity to perform everyday activities. It is necessary to plan the living space in which they can keep activity levels according to their physical conditions.
