Abstract
In the apparel industry, the technology has been advanced rapidly. The use of 3D scanning systems for the capture and measurement of human body is becoming commonplace. Three-dimensional digital image can be used for design, inspection, and reproduction of physical objects. This study examines a way in which collected 3-D surface anthropometrical data and shape data can be used for apparel pattern drafting process. In this study, a computerized pattern-drafting algorithm was developed to use three dimensional scanner data. The 3D scanner used in this study was Cyberware Whole Body Scanner WB-4. It was found that the developed method could improve fit of clothes.
