Abstract

This paper is on the measurement of the human operator's dynamics. The human operator regarded as a linear system is thought to be working in the manual control system. The method of measurement adopts statistical one between the input and the output signal. The feature of this paper is that M-sequence signal is used as an input signal. M-sequence signal is a binary quasi-random signal and its autocorrelation function is nearly equal to delta function. The relation between the constant of M-sequence signal and dynamics is theoretically analyzed, and the condition particular to the human operator is examined.
As the result, this paper proposes that the simple measurement of dynamics should result from the measurement of the dead time and the time constant of the first order lag system with dead time, and the accurate measurement of dynamics from the calculation of weighting function of the system.
