【Objective】Seventy-two patients with a diagnosis of Pes Anserinus tendinopathy syndrome were treated at our hospital using a Radial pressure wave (RPW) therapy device. We report on the changes in pain status before and after treatment. 【Methods】The subjects were 72 patients (5 males and 67 females) diagnosed with Pes Anserinus tendinopathy syndrome and treated with RPW from April 2019 to May 2021, with a mean age of 71.1 ± 12.8 years. The mean age was 71.1 ± 12.8 years. Irradiation conditions were 1.5 to 3.0 bar, 10 Hz, 2,000 shots, and a maximum of 10 times at intervals of 5 to 10 days at the site of pain. Pain was assessed using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), and changes in pain status were observed. 【Results】Symptoms improved in 52 of 72 patients (72.2%) after the final RPW and treatment was completed. The mean change in NRS between the groups that completed treatment before initial irradiation and after final irradiation was 3.5±1.7. This suggests that the treatment is effective if the NRS value decreases by 3.5 or more after irradiation. 【Discussion】RPW was effective in reducing pain in a large number of cases of Pes Anserinus tendinopathy syndrome, suggesting that RPW is effective.
